Description

As part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the inscription of Falconry on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the National Coach Museum presents, in the North Wing (Display Case 15), a museographic core dedicated to falconry.

Part of the "Falconry on the Museum Route" project, promoted by the Municipality of Salvaterra de Magos, this core results from a partnership between the National Coach Museum, the Salvaterra de Magos City Council, and Falcoaria Real, with the aim of enhancing, promoting, and celebrating this ancestral practice deeply rooted in Portuguese culture and history.

The exhibition brings together a set of items from the Museum's collection related to the world of falconry hunting, highlighting its close connection to the Court and to the history of the Portuguese monarchy.
