Historical context
This painting belongs to a group of four views of Roman squares by Giacomo van Lint (1723–1790). Originally from the Patriarchal Palace of São Vicente de Fora in Lisbon, it is now in the collection of the National Coach Museum.
Description
A procession of three open-bodied coaches approaches one of the buildings, while figures move across the square.
